Sesame Tofu Sticks with Peanut Sauce

1 lb firm tofu
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon water
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1/4 cup sesame seeds

  1. Preheat broiler. Slice tofu into slabs and press with a clean towel to remove excess water. Slice each slab into sticks.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water and sesame oil. Marinate tofu sticks in soy mixture for a few minutes.
  3. Place tofu sticks on a greased baking sheet and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Transfer to oven and broil until slightly dry to the touch, about 10 minutes, turning once after about 5 minutes.

Peanut Sauce

1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
1/4 teaspoon dried garlic
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon maple syrup
pinch cayenne
1/3 cup water

Whisk together peanut butter, garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, sugar, cayenne, and water in a small bowl until mixture is smooth. Serve with Sesame Tofu Sticks
