Slow Cooker Lamb Stew

1# lamb stew meat
1 yukon gold potato, cubed
1 cup baby carrots
1 turnip, peeled, cubed
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 sprig fresh rosemary, or 1 teaspoon dry
1 sprig fresh thyme, or half teaspoon dry
1 bay leaf
1 cup cool beef broth, preferably homemade
2 teaspoons arrowroot powder
salt and black pepper to taste
 

Whisk together the broth and arrowroot until there are no lumps. Combine with remaining ingredients in a slow cooker and cook at low heat for 8 hours or until vegetables are tender.
