2 slices bread of your choice
about 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese or any melty cheese
3-4 fresh, ripe strawberries, sliced
- Spread butter lightly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a cast iron or heavy skillet over medium low heat.
- Place one slice bread butter side down in the pan. Sprinkle some of the cheese on the bread, layer with sliced strawberries, and sprinkle generously with more cheese. Top with the second bread slice, butter side up. Press the bread down with a thin metal spatula.
- Cook, continuing to press down with the spatula, until bread is lightly browned and cheese is starting to melt. Carefully flip sandwich and cook on the other side, pressing down, until browned and cheese is melted. Remove from pan and serve immediately.
