Smoothies are a convenient, delicious way to pack in some nutrition in the morning or anytime you need a pick me up. All you need is a decent blender and a few basic ingredients.

Use whatever fruit you have on hand frozen or fresh (especially bananas), some kind of liquid such as milk, non-dairy milk, or coconut water, yogurt (dairy or vegan, optional), and any kind of add-ins you want, such as nut butter, natural sweeteners, chia or hemp seeds, protein powder, matcha, etc. for extra nutrition. An ice cube is nice too for a chilled smoothie. Try to keep frozen sliced bananas handy in the freezer. This is the perfect time to toss some raw greens in, like spinach or kale. Experiment and see what combinations you like best.
