Sauteed Morel Mushrooms

1 pound fresh morel mushrooms, ends trimmed
6 tablespoons salted butter

  1. To clean morel mushrooms, place them in a bowl of water. Add a sprinkle of salt and soak for 15 minutes. Rinse well and drain.
  2. Pat mushrooms dry. Slice mushrooms in half lengthwise, or cut large mushrooms in quarters.
  3. In a large cast iron skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook for 5 – 8 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
