Holiday Cheeses

  in Blog

Your holidays wouldn’t be complete without a few delicious cheeses to round out your appetizers and snacks at family gatherings. Peruse the eclectic selection at both our stores and check out the below recommendations for festive cheeses from our cheese buyers.

Leelanau Raclette

Leelanau Raclette (made right in Leelanau County) is a semi-soft washed-rind cheese with a distinct nutty and buttery flavor. Always a hit on a cheese board or served traditionally, melted over potatoes and served with cornichons.

Cranberry Stilton

A lovely holiday cheese. Creamy, delicately salted cheese complimented perfectly with sweet cranberry, a most winning combination.

Fromager d’Affinois

Luscious and buttery, Fromager D’Affinois is a more decadent version of Brie. A true crowd pleaser with a silky texture and sweet, milky flavor.

LaClare Raw Goat Cheddar

Sweet, fresh, light, fruity goat milk cheddar from quality raw whole goat milk. Perfect with any crunchy cracker or freshly sliced French bread.

Le Roule Cheese

Soft and spreadable French cheese in two delicious flavors, Garlic & Herb and Cranberry. An elegant addition to a cheese board.

Milledome Bleu D’Auvergne

This blue cheese from southeastern France is creamier than Roquefort because it’s made from cow’s milk rather than sheep’s. Delicious crumbled on salads or with fresh apple slices.

Beehive Cheese – Barely Buzzed aged fontina rubbed with espresso & lavender

This is a full-bodied cheese with a nutty flavor and smooth texture. Hours after it’s made, the special grind is rubbed on the rind. The 20-pound wheel ages for 6-8 months.
