Learn how to freeze foods safely while preserving the quality and texture of your fruits and vegetables. Participants will also explore various drying methods that dry foods effectively and reduce the incidence of spoilage. This class is good for BEGINNERS or anyone wanting a refresher.

Archipelago Project Concert on the Patio

Join us for a free student concert by the Archipelago Project. The Archipelago Project is a non-profit music education ensemble dedicated to advocating musical arts through performance, residency, and consultation. Archipelago’s mission is to educate and inspire audiences from diverse ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic populations. Comprising the ensemble is a group of highly trained musicians from the United States, Canada, Austria and Germany. Archipelago’s audiences are immersed in a world of musical styles including classical, funk, 20’s jazz, polka, New Orleans Second Line, big-band swing and even a few pop classics. 2:30 pm.

Attention, budding young chefs. Do you want to learn new kitchen skills and taste some new creations? Our goal is to familiarize you with some new cooking methods and learn more about food culture. This class will focus on confident knife skills and creating fun dishes from scratch with fresh ingredients. And of course, lots of adventurous tasting!     How do you follow a recipe? How do you measure ingredients? And how do you go off-road and creatively follow your instincts? Food Educator Laura Cavender will guide you through easy recipes from start to finish. You’ll make memories and take away new recipes to try at home. Come and be willing to learn new techniques and try new foods.
