Tell Your Senators "No!" to new dietary ingredient notification protocols
The FDA issued draft guidance for complying with the New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notification protocols. This guidance will create such huge barriers for supplement manufacturers that it will be much more difficult and expensive to produce them. But of course, that means consumers would either have to pay much more for nutritional supplements, or else risk not being able to buy them at all if the manufacturer deems them too expensive to produce.. Send a message to your lawmakers opposing the New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notification protocols.
Tell the FDA to mandate labeling of genetically modified foods
Unlike most other developed countries – such as the 15 nations in the European Union, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Russia and even China – the U.S. has no laws requiring labeling of genetically engineered foods. Yet polls have repeatedly shown that over 90% of people believe GE foods should be labeled. A legal petition (Docket # FDA-2011-P-0723-0001/CP) has been filed with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) calling on the FDA to label genetically engineered (GE) foods. The FDA is currently taking comments from the public on this petition. Please send the FDA your comments and voice your feelings about the issue.
