While shopping at Oryana, you may have noticed the red color-coded tags throughout the store. They are part of a project to help identify products for special gluten-free diets. If you see a red product tag that says "Gluten Free," this indicates that the manufacturer is claiming the product to be gluten-free.
As an additional service to customers, local products are designated by a green tag. "Local" is defined as the surrounding nine county area that includes Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford.
A third tag we are employing is our Everyday Value tag, which we have for approximately 50 items throughout the store, where we have pledged to keep these items at the lowest possible prices. On many basic, staple items like bananas, flour, cereal, milk and peanut butter you'll see the shelf tag reflect a lower price. On these items, the Co-op is willing to make less than our basic profit margin and pass those savings on to you.

We hope that our tag system will help shoppers identify the products they need more easily. As always, do not hesitate to ask any staff member for help if you have a question.
