Recycling and Composting at Oryana
We will be phasing out our community recycling bins due to the many recycling options now available to Traverse City and county residents. MEMBERS may take recyclables to the bins at the east entrance until APRIL 1. If you have cardboard you can take it to Customer Service.

Carter's Compost Station at Oryana
All Oryana members and Carter's Compost customers are invited to drop off compostable items at your convenience. The bins are located in the southeast corner by the parking lot.
We welcome fruit and vegetable scraps, non-greasy food scraps like rice, pasta, bread, cereal, coffee grounds and filters, tea bags (staples are OK), egg and nut shells, pits, cut or dried flowers, houseplants and potting soil.
Please NO meat, bones, chicken, fish, greasy food scraps, fat, oil, dairy, animal waste, litter or bedding, coal or charcoal, coconuts, diseased and/or insect-infested houseplants/soil.
Each fall and spring, Oryana--in conjunction with Carter's Compost and BARC--will host a community event to share the compost bounties with members, neighbors, schools, and community gardens.
