Long-time human resources professional in the compensation and benefits field, currently working at Munson.  Into automating and streamlining HR tasks.  Organic hop farmer and co-owner New Mission Organics.  Reads, hikes, kayaks, rescues greyhounds and old cookbooks.

Executive Director for Resource Development & NMC Foundation at Northwestern Michigan College. Longtime advocate for natural resource conservation and avid horseback rider, hiker, & generally an outdoor enthusiast. Live with husband, daughter, and Doberman Pinscher in Traverse City.

Co-owner with wife Lori of Green Island in Traverse City, a purveyor of earth-friendly goods. Worked in strategic business development and international marketing for a large, multinational corporation. Love to swim, sail, and ski with daughter Emma.

Co-Principal with wife Laura May at Traverse Tax & Accounting by day, drummer in The Mark Sanders Band, serves on Oryana, Honor Bank and March of Dimes Boards. He enjoys spending time with his wife & their office Westies, performing music, meditating, and gardening.

Native American historian, cultural advisor, ethnobotanist for 3 of the largest Native American Museums in North America. Movies/docs have been featured on National Geographic, BBC, PBS, and Discovery Channel. Artist, potter, wood carver. Has been working at Oryana for 7 years.

Karen Howie

Karen Howie is a recent "graduate" from NMC.  She retired in June 2010 with
Faculty Emeritus status. She is a world traveler, second-hand store enthusiast, and eager participant while she can still hear, see, and do. She joined the Board in 2010 and is enjoying learning the depth of the co-op's association with the community.
