Vegetable Seeds are Here!


One of the happiest signs of Spring is the arrival of garden seeds in our produce department! We are again carrying High Mowing and Seeds of Change vegetable and flower seeds, both of which are high quality, non-GMO, and organic. $2.75 per pack. Read our tips for transplanting.

"Soup and a Side" Cooking Class

Join instructor Sharon Flesher and learn all about how a simple, hearty soup can be the base of an almost instant meal. Learn how to create a few basic but delicious soups that can be adapted for seasonal ingredients and paired with salad and/or bread for a satisfying meal that will taste like you spent all day in the kitchen. Recipes will include Cacao Chili, Velvety Squash Soup, Miso Soup, and Quick Cornbread, among others.

Class takes place Tuesday, April 24, 6 - 8:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, $25/members, $30/nonmembers. Register at Customer Service or call 947-0191.

Beer Tasting at Oryana

Friday, March 16, 4 -6 p.m.

In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, here is a super easy yet delicious Irish dish that you can whip up for dinner in less than 30 minutes. Comfort food at its best!



3 cups shredded green cabbage
1 onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup water
6 medium russet potatoes, cooked, mashed
1/4 cup milk or half and half
1/4 cup butter
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Place cabbage, onion, water and a sprinkling of salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer about 10 minutes or cabbage is until tender.

Add mashed potatoes, milk, butter, salt and pepper. Mix well and stir until heated through. Serves 4.
